CTT celebrates Auto Guarantee Fund's 40th anniversary

This Friday, September 25th, CTT presents a philatelic issue on the 40th anniversary of the important Auto Guarantee Fund. It is a public fund managed by the Insurance and Pension Fund’s Supervision Authority , very relevant to our society and economy.  

The Auto Guarantee Fund intends to protect victims of traffic accidents by ensuring all hospital assistance, recovery, indemnities, among others. Since its creation, around 13 thousand people have been covered by this Fund, and 50 thousand people were reimbursed from material damages resulting from traffic accidents.

With this philatelic issue, CTT celebrates this important date to the Insurance and Pension Fund’s Supervision Authority, and carries Portugal and its main milestones worldwide.

The Auto Guarantee Fund will keep on performing a very relevant role to our society, contributing its mission regarding justice, equity and protection of traffic accidents’ victims.

This philatelic issue is composed by one stamp worth 0.53€ each, 100 000 units. The design is from Fernando Pendão from Pendão & Prior. The first-day stamp cancellations will take place at the Restauradores Post Office in Lisbon, Município II in Oporto, Zarco Post Office in Funchal and Antero de Quental Post Office in Ponta Delgada.
