The partnership between CTT - Correios de Portugal and eBay offers advantageous conditions to companies that use the eBay platform for online sales, supporting the internationalization of Portuguese businesses. Portuguese companies that join this partnership and sell their products directly on eBay's e-marketplace can use CTT tools that facilitate their shipments. Being on a global platform allows companies to access multiple markets without making major developments, the possibility of quickly learning which markets their products have the greatest acceptance, having relatively low catalog exposure costs compared to physical presence, and benefiting from lower barriers to entry.

According to João Sousa, CTT's administrator, "this partnership is very relevant and fits into CTT's strategy as a major driver of the digitalization and online presence of Portuguese companies. We are very pleased with this agreement with eBay, one of the world's largest marketplaces, and we believe that this initiative will help many companies in their internationalization process."

Daniel Biran, Head of Business Development, Global Markets, eBay, stated that "we are very happy to support small and medium-sized companies in Portugal, which is one of the main markets in our region. There are already more than 11,000 Portuguese sellers who sell successfully on eBay. We are excited and honored to cooperate with CTT to help more local companies make their businesses global, with exclusive support and benefits to succeed online."

Participation in the program is free, and all companies will receive a toolkit with a manual and tips on how to sell on eBay. They will also have first-hand access to information about all initiatives developed under the partnership. For companies with over 100 products listed on eBay and considered to have high potential, an eBay representative will contact them to propose a free sales acceleration program. These clients will have access to personal training programs with eBay experts, higher sales limits, and a free eBay store subscription for one quarter to help them make their businesses global and reach 135 million buyers worldwide, valued at thousands of dollars.

E-commerce has been consistently growing and CTT (Portuguese Postal Service) are leading the development of e-commerce in Portugal. In this evolution, global commerce platforms have played a decisive role, particularly e-marketplaces which have shown significant year-over-year growth rates. E-marketplaces allow companies to explore one or more markets for their products without making significant investments in travel, meetings, identifying local intermediaries, among others, thereby reducing costs. In addition, e-marketplaces have the ability to promote and generate traffic in the geographies where they are present, in a way that an individual company could hardly achieve.

CTT is a trusted player in the market and with their vast portfolio, they offer effective and quickly implementable solutions and position themselves as a unique partner, who brings together all the conditions to help companies find the most appropriate and complete solutions for their business, throughout the year and also during Christmas.

Applications for the program are now available.
