29 July, 2020

CTT and Caldas da Rainha City Hall have established a partnership to provide CTT service Comércio Local (Local Business), a digital service that facilitates the  presence of local businessmen and small producers online.

The presentation event will take place this Friday, July 31st, around 11:30 a.m.,  at Mercado do Peixe, Rua Leonel Sotto Mayor,  Caldas da Rainha,  and will count with the participation of Caldas da Rainha Mayor, Fernando Tinta Ferreira, and the Chief Executive Officer of CTT, João Bento.

CTT service Comércio Local (Local Business) is an innovative offer that enables local producers and small businessmen, who traditionally have a physical commercial presence only, to have an electronic platform where they can sell their products, in this case an app, that generates e-commerce exchanges. This way it allows local businessmen to display and sell their products online, as well as locals to buy safely from home.

This service helps to promote the sustainability of the national business fabric, in full alignment with CTT's focus on innovative products and services designed for every customer's need, from private consumers to large companies, from small businessmen to local producers. With this service, CTT reinforces its mission to support the digital transition of these companies and producers which, otherwise would hardly access to an online platform to sell their products.

The solution, developed in a partnership with the Portuguese company Localshop, is provided to the councils, which in turn provide it to local businessmen and producers, who  start having their products available in this app. The consumers may through phone and having in mind where they are, see which businessmen and producers of the region are present in the app, enter into every shop, buy and pay with  MB Way, debit or credit card.

E-commerce is one of the key growth levers of CTT and the company has been reinforcing its operational  and product focus, by climbing the value chain with the provision of platforms and integrated services of online sale.  CTT Comércio Local (Local Business) complements the digital offer which CTT has available to its customers and that, during the past months has been reinforced with the offers: Criar Lojas Online (Create online stores) and  Feiras e  Showrooms Digitais (Digital Fairs and Showrooms).

CTT is aware of the instrumental role it plays in the communication and logistics channels which are vital to the economy and Portuguese society, a reinforced role in the present environment, by supporting also the companies' presence in the digital channels through solutions and services.

CTT is also implementing mitigation measures to prevent the spread of CoViD-19 in the retail network and in the whole process of handling and delivery of mail and parcels. CTT while providing a proximity and quality service, calls for a strict follow-up of the recommendations issued by the National Health Department, in order to ensure the safety of its clients, as well as of CTT's employees.
