21 October, 2020

CTT is partner of the  Planetiers World Gathering event, the major worldwide innovation event that will take place at Altice Arena, in Lisbon, next October 22nd and 23rd. It will be an hybrid event, with most of the speakers and participants there, but with most of the audience participating online.

The Planetiers World Gathering will address areas like ecology, climate changes, poverty, education and hunger. The aim is to touch and cause a change in the consumption habits, encouraging an increase in the overall consciousness and liability.

To Miguel Salema Garção, Communication and Sustainability Director, “this partnership comes in the scope of CTT’s investment in a more sustainable offer of ecologic products and services, carbon neutral. It is the case of the easy mail and the express offer with no additional costs for the customers, or the Green Deliveries service, released by CTT in the middle of this pandemic crisis to corporate customers; this service ensures that all deliveries are made exclusively in CTT’s electric vehicles”.

The event will bring together around 10 000 participants coming from more than 50 countries to debate on the sustainability worldwide, focusing on long-term solutions to ensure environmental and social conditions. The event will receive famous people like Mohan Munasinghe, Peace Nobel Prize, Mohan Munasinghe, from Shark Tank, or Mathis Wackernagel, creator of the Carbon Footprint concept, among other celebrities.

The Planetiers World Gathering joins 100 speakers, more than 70 exhibitors and start-ups and 100 investors. There will be four stages and various exhibition areas, offering a multifunctional experience to all participants. They will be able to go through the innovation studios, exhibition areas, main stage or even talk with other participants. The Planetiers Market is also in the event’s agenda, an area that works like a sustainable products, services and solutions’ showroom.

CTT’s sustainability strategy is line with the decision to limit global warming to 1.5ºC up to 2030 and with the interests and priorities of our partners in terms of social and environmental liability, as well as environmental preservation, biodiversity and national forests’ protection and support to the development of disadvantaged populations.
