CTT is the first Portuguese company to test the new electric vehicle Nissan e-NV200 XL for delivery purposes (last mile). The vehicle was tailored to the postal sector and is not currently circulating in Portugal.
The lightweight vehicle Nissan e-NV200 XL is an electric motor vehicle with a higher loading capacity and autonomy. A strong competitor in terms of costs in the loading segment (compared to other models in the market).
Its use in CTT is estimated to annually reduce 4.877 kg of CO2 and to save 1.875 litres of fuel. A pioneer in the acquisition of electric vehicles to its auto fleet and in the products’ innovation, CTT are increasingly focused on the environment protection.
CTT has the largest ecologic fleet in Portugal in the logistics area, with around 315 vehicles, and has implemented various measures to support biodiversity and fight climate changes through and ecologic or carbon neutral portfolio (Easy Mail, DM and Express and Parcels). CTT has also invested in energy and carbon efficiency, which reduced its carbon footprint in 64% between 2008 and 2019.
Thinking about the future, CTT is very committed with sustainability. This attitude is put into practice daily by innovating processes, products and corporate service technology and in various initiatives that generate value to community.
