Portugal: Preservation of the Sintra - Cascais Natural Park

This project aims at the eradication of invasive species and the planting of native species, allowing the restoration of the ecosystem balance, thus preserving the Park's natural biodiversity, making it a more resilient space to climate change.

With a very strong environmental awareness component, the project relies on the involvement of the community in general, to carry out various actions such as the planting of indigenous trees, the eradication of invasive species, erosion control, among others, with with a view to protecting the fauna and flora of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park.

These creation and conservation activities maximize the services that the ecosystem provides, while supporting biodiversity, making them more resistant to pests and periods of intense drought or rain, thus helping to maintain the fertility of space and the balance of landscapes, in addition to the carbon sequestration.
